Position of the images changes -[stupid is as stupid does]!
I am testing a web application in which i have to do payment validation.I need to buy a product and then proceed to checkout. In the process of choosing a product, the product image differs and it is inconsistent. It will be either in the first position of the product page or 4th position on the product page. But i have to choose the same product irrespective of the position where it is displayed in the page and then proceed to check out.
I am done with the validation and rest of the part are working fine but i am problem with the product page.Is there any simple way that i can capture that particular image so that i can stick with that product in my script.
Is there any other way to instruct QTP to choose the image which has that unique product number(each product has a display image and item number)in the script?
Please help.[stupid is as stupid does]!
Re: Position of the images changes -[stupid is as stupid does]!
What you need to do is Spy on the Image when it is in different positions and try to find a property that is consistent between different positions on the page.
I would suggest 1st looking at the alt, src and href properties as a starter.
If you find one post what it is and then I can show you how to select it if you are unsure.
