Help File Creation
Hi all, I've been spending a bit of time creating help files and thought I'd tell you of a free utility that I found useful.
HelpMaker from www.vizacc.com (I downloaded v7.3.19) allows you to create a help file (indexing, searching etc) quite quickly once you have familiarised yourself with the basics.
One thing I really liked was once you have created the topics, you can specify whether you want it in Compiled Help File, Win Help File, HTML or Word format (or any combination of those 4). What I did was created the help in all 4 formats in one go, viewed tham all, selected the best and distributed that to the people requireing help, better than a standard Word document and more fun.
Only sticky was with the Compile Help you have to use the register CHM utility and point to the folder where the CHM file resides. Once you have done this you can distribute as required.
