after parameterizing values into web page i need to save it come back click on edit and see whether the same is stored in database ie an all the fields in the page
solution for this can i use getroproperty
yes. GetROProperty would be a good idea..GetROProperty("inner text") or GetROProperty("text") should work in your case.
I am assuming that after you click on Edit, you get a page with all the values previously stored in the database displayed on this new page.
In that case, GetROProperty will get the value you want. Then compare them to your QTP DataTable parameters (use If..Then and Reporter.ReportEvent for this).
The first reply you got was correct, except "innertext" is one word - no space in the middle.
But there is another way.
QTP allows you to imbed SQL into your scripts.
So you could literally write the SQL to query your database and check that the correct values are stored.
All you need is a connection string and a basic knowledge of SQL. You can search this forum for examples of how to make it all work, but your connection string might need to come from your own DBAs.
