    How to retrieve data from Grid .NET windows app ?

    Hi all,

    I' m using Mercury's QTP 9.1 test tool to automate testing for a .Net windows application which include SYNCFUSION Grid Controls.

    QTP recognizes the grid as SwfObject only (or SwfTable if I put a MappedTo="SwfTable" in the Config.xml file in QTP envt)

    SwfWindow("Form1").SwfObject("gridGroupingControl1 ").SetCurrentCell 830,"NameID"
    SwfWindow("Form1").SwfObject("gridGroupingControl1 ").MouseDown 2,"Name","Left"
    !
    !
    !

    How can I do to retrieve all the data from the grid and compare them with my SQL database ?

    Thanks for your help.

    Re: How to retrieve data from Grid .NET windows app ?

    I have never had that grid in an application, but I have had some luck with FlexGrid. You might want to go into Object Spy and see if you can get what you are looking for inside the "Run-Time object Properties". In my case the grid had a "TextMatrix(X,Y)" property associated with it. I was able to get the data then by calling something simular to this

    value = .SWFWindow([Object]).ActiveX(":-) VideoSoft Flexgrid").Object.TextMatrix(x,y)

    Not sure if it will help.. Good luck

    P.S. Yes, there really is a smilly face as part of there object name by default
