As I mentioned in subject "This is different" mean I donít want people to describe theoretical comparison which we found a lot on net and I don't want to bring old debate over and over.
I have very specific questions and I guess , I can get neat and clean answer through this forum only.
Here you go:
1. Is it fact that Mercury(HP) is promoting QTP over Winrunner? Here I assume QTP will support everything that Winrunner and many more (QTP is super set? )
2. Are there any environments which only supported by WinRunner and not from QTP?
The only place you can get the answer for question #1 would be Mercury/HP - they know their plans, the rest of us speculate. Also its probable that they will not answer this question.
To find a good answer to your second question get the product data sheets for each product - available on the Mercury/HP website and compare what the vendor states in the supported environments section.
Also if you consider purchasing the Quality Center suite I understand that you get both tools as a part of that.
I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work" --Thomas Edison
It was said that if Dennis Ritchie (the co-author of he C programming language) designed a car he would only have one display on the dashboard to indicate a problem with the car. When any failure occurred a single question mark would light up in the display. His supposed thinking was, "if you were smart enough, you would know what was wrong".
I guess this helpful reply assumes that must also be the case for the thread starters question #2.
An ounce of example is worth a pound of advise.
