Thnx for the reply but it still doesnt help me...actually qtp doesnt throw any error nor does it click the link!!!..even though it is able to retrieve the rows and columns displayed in the webtable, it fails to click the links displayed in the 3rd column of all rows...can you pls help me in this!!!
Looks like you are trying to do a Ctrl+Click on the link. Your code, as it stands, would do a Ctrl key down and up before the click. If this is the case then you need to determine a way to do a Ctrl key down - click - Ctrl key up.
Try using a:
<object>.Type micLCtrlDwn / micLCtrlUp
statement in the script or look at Type Method in help
In continuation to the above resolved issue i nuw have a new issue....
i created the foll below code to actually click the link from the datatable as per my input....it works fine...wherever the link is found qtp clicks it perfectly fine...nuw i tried to search the link and an value displayed in another column(which displays only text) of the same row in the webtable ...this doesn't work..can u tell me how to go about this ??
Public Function ClickWebLinkfromWebTable(strVal,strGet)
rows = browser("A").Page("A").WebTable("WT").RowCount
while (ColData2 <> strVal and rcount <rows)
While (colData1 <> strGet and rcount < rows)
rcount = rcount+1
set Obj=browser("A").Page("A").WebTable("A").ChildObje cts(Obj)
set Obj=browser("A").Page("A").WebTable("WT").ChildIte m( 3, 3, "Link", 0)
strtest = browser("A").Page("A").WebTable("WT").GetCellData( 3,3)
now the variable strVal gets the value for the text and the strGet gets the value for the link....qtp always works only with the 2nd part ie link but does not consider the 1st part at all...can u help me in this
