    Can i validate Print button using QTP

    HI,
    Can i validate Printbutton using QTP.if yes send me the code

    example.

    My application has "PRINT" button.if i click that "PRINT" button it gives print out.how to validate this one

    can anyone help me .

    do you want to check button existance or wana check that functionality of button e.g it send the page for print , and pages prints out from printer.

    you have to stop (pause) the default printer before printing your test via the button.

    after this you should open the spooler window and check the list items. ther should be 1 from your last print. i think this should work

    Some options:
    * Install and set as default a PDF printer driver. The printout will then be in the form of a PDF file which can be saved along with the test results and compared to a baseline if so desired.

    * You could also print to a file rather than the printer itself but for this you need to have/manipulate the OS printer dialog

    * The display of the OS printer dialog could be considered to be adequate for print button testing as beyond this validates the printer driver/printer far more than the application
