I am trying to do some automated tests, (using quick test pro)
for work. we log into an application that uses a unique session ID (in the url) for security. I need to modify the test so that I can figure out the sid and "plug" it into the window url so I do not get immediately locked out. I know that this is the issue because I dealt with it using a java script test package. Alas, my company wants me to use QTP so, back to the drawing board!
here is a example of the full url that I found with a different testing program.
w1.ToURL ("https://************.cfg/php/admin/session/console.php?p_sid="+mySid+"&passwd_act=*&d aystillexp=*");
this is all the code that is shown with QTP.
Window("Session Console (***********)").Activate
#1. How do I find the unique sid when it doesn't even show up in the Window() call?
#2. How do I plug in the current session's unique sid?
