Using custom classes for test object in OR?
I'm using QTP to test a web application. My application has a few controls that are composites of different HTML controls. For example, the HTML for something we call an object picker has multiple div and span elements that wrap a test label, a textual link, and a clickable image.
The user clicks on the image to get a new browser dialog where they choose an item that gets filled into the field.
I want to create a custom class to describe this control, and define methods to interact with it. That should not be a problem. I then want to be able to create test objects of this class in the object respository. That's where I'm running into trouble. I can't figure out in QTP how to get the object repository controls to allow me to choose a custom class. How would I do this? If I can't do it in the UI, would it be possible to import XML that uses the custom class for the object?
Re: Using custom classes for test object in OR?
You are thinking too far with QTP. It is not possible to insert a object in the OR at run-time. QTP is not flexible in terms of OR.
