Original action calls can\'t work in new location

    There are some QTP scripts, and one action in test 1 calls other actions in test2, and they run well;
after save, copy all scripts to another computer, then run test 1, however, the called actions can't
be found, the warning message is as below, and I find the path of called script is original path, so
test 1 can't find test 2 in new computer, I try to re-insert those calls and save, they can work well,
but the problem is still after I close QTP and reopen it, did you encounted the situation before, and
    how to solve it, thanks.

    *************warning message***********************
This test calls one or more actions that were not found.

Running the test with calls to these actions will cause the test to fail.
You should delete all references to these actions before running the test.

The following action(s) were not found:
    'LoginAction [LoginAction]' From: E:\Mercury Interactive\QuickTest Professional\Tests\LoginAction\Action1
    'confirm_domeOrder_step1 [confirm_domeOrder_step1]' From: E:\Mercury Interactive\QuickTest Professional\Tests\confirm_domeOrder_step1\Action1
    'confirm_domeOrder_step2 [confirm_domeOrder_step2]' From: E:\Mercury Interactive\QuickTest Professional\Tests\confirm_domeOrder_step2\Action1
    ************************************************** **

    My code as below:

    RunAction "LoginAction [LoginAction]", oneIteration
    RunAction "confirm_domeOrder_step1 [confirm_domeOrder_step1]", oneIteration
    RunAction "confirm_domeOrder_step2 [confirm_domeOrder_step2]", oneIteration

Re: Original action calls can\'t work in new location

Use the External Action Call Modifier Utility in QT Plus.

If you have the scripts in exactly the same folder structure as the original PC this shouldn't happen.

If your using QTP 9.0/9.1, the action that cannot be found will appear in the Missing Resources window. Click on the entry and set the new path.

Re: Original action calls can\'t work in new locati

The tool may solve the problem, but is this the only way to implement the situation? If I place these scripts to cvs for configuration management, others want to run them by updating cvs, then everybody needs to modify them, this is not a good idea, do you have other better solutions to solve it?

Re: Original action calls can\'t work in new locati

Go to program menu and in QuickTest Professional folder and make sure you install QuickTest plus. Once installed go to the QuickTest Plus folder and run the external call modifier utility. Once you run it is very simple to use and you should not need a guidance to use it.
