I'm looking for some advice as to how QTP handles Infragistics controls when used with the .Net add in and the TestAdvantage add in?
Currently I use Testpartner and when recording a test the tool bar at the top of our application is recognised as a single toolbar rather than having the individual buttons within it recognised. (an example of only one of the problems I have!)
When I heard about TestAdvantage I had visions that using this addin with a test tool would mean that when recording a script that in the above exmaple all the elements that were once only recognised as a whole toolbar would now be recogised as each button due to the Infragistics add in.
Can anyone confirm the behaviour of QTP + add ins with an application using infragistics?
I have downloaded the QTP 14 day trial (doesn't seem quite long enough really) and the TestAdvantage addin but am currently waiting for support to reply to me about where I can find a a trial of the correct .Net add in as this is currently not working.
I am trying to determine whether a switch from TestPartner to QTP +add ins is going to be a more benficial move for us but without seeing a demonstration or being able to evaluate I am a little stuck at the moment and would appreciate any feedback from people using a similar setup.
Thanks very much
TestPartner 6.3, Visual Tests
Application under test: Client/Server based, C# .Net App with Infragistics Presentation layer
Database: SQL 2000/2005
I haven't used them but have been told by a competent QTP developer that they tried several different approaches including working with the infragistics support staff and were unable to get them to work reliably with QTP.
