You use VBScript logic to call Reporter.ReportEvent.

e.g.

If x = expected resulted Then
Reporter.ReportEvent micPass,"text", "text"
Else
Reporter.ReportEvent micFail,"text", "text"
End if

And Here is the code you would use for the above logic.

Say you have a script that creates an account and you want to checkpoint that the message "Account Created" is displayed in descriptive programming you would do the following:

USe the object spy to get the message identification properties.

In this example I assume the Message is a Webelement, it's HTML Tag is a SPAN and the "Account Created" is it's innerText. The Code would be something like this:

If ("micClass:=Browser").Page("micClass:=Page").WebEl ement("html tag:=SPAN","innerText:=Account Created").Exist Then
.... Do Exist Process
Else
.... Do Not Exist Process
End If

Robbie I included a deliberate mistake in the code, I thought that would be more fun

Dont take things too seriously...people have been helping here for years and they have helped others to a great extent also. and sometimes they do deserve a moment for fun.

Re: Check points using the descriptive programming

Thank's Tarun.

Actually Sreedhar katkam I was sharing a private joke with Robbie. There is no deliberate mistake in the code.

I guess my humour doesn't work for you.

By the way if you search all 2000+ of my posts you will only find me poking fun at people when I was a newbie.

As a moderator of this fine forum, I would not make fun of someone's QTP knowledge. If it wasn't for this forum I don't think my QTP would be as good as I wanted it to be.
