Problem with Call To Existing Action

I created Reusable Action (XXX) with parameters
and when I try to call it
from another script (YYY) it does not call it and writes
    RunAction "Action1", oneIteration
    instead.
At the same time I can call other reusable actions
from this script (YYY) as well as I can call this action
    (XXX) from other scripts.

    What may be the reason?

    Thanks,
    Vitaly

Re: Problem with Call To Existing Action

    Thank you,
I renamed external action XXX to XXX1 and it was inserted
    into the script. Why .....?

However, the parameters of this action are not
recognized inside this action when I call it with
parameter which are defined in calling script.

Save the YYY also again as YYY1...this issue could be due to some kind of file corruption and save it again may remove that corrution

Re: Problem with Call To Existing Action

    Can I do this:

    Par1 = "nbnnb"
    Par2 = "uhiuih"
    RunAction MyAction, oneiteration, Par1, Par2

Par1 and Par2 are defined as string in MyAction.

Do I need to Dim or something else in MyAction
script to pass values of Par1 and Par2 inside?

    Thanks,
    Vitaly

Re: Problem with Call To Existing Action

If you are not using "option explicit" in your scripts then you dont need to Dim any variable, VBScript will create the varibale on the fly when you use it.

Re: Problem with Call To Existing Action

I know this. But the question is how to pass
parameters from calling script to called External
Action. I set parameters in Action properties, all
    string, and indicated them like
    RunAction MyAction, oneiteration, Par1, Par2
in the calling script. However they are not passed.
May be I missed to do some settings?

    Please help if possible,
    Vitaly

Re: Problem with Call To Existing Action

I am not sure if you made the same mistake that is very common...people add the parameters by mistake to the whole script and think that it is for the action.. go to keyword view and right click on the action and go to action properties and just confirm that you added the parameters to the reusable action....

That's what I did. I checked action properties using
keyword view in the calling script. Parameters are there.
Maybe I need to do something in the calling script in
addition to just creating a call to reusable MyAction:
    RunAction MyAction, oneiteration, Par1, Par2
to pass them inside this action from the calling script.

Re: Problem with Call To Existing Action

    Check your Action Call Properties.

I've had a similar problem. In a uniqe script I set up an action with say 5 variables. I set it to run on all rows. It runs fine independently. I set it to be a reusable action.

I go to a "master" script and I set up a call to the action above. It only runs once. Very frustrating.

In the master script, right click the reusable action and select Action Call Properties. Set to run on all rows. Runs as expected.

Perhaps this is like your problem.
