We store our QTP scripts in QualityCenter.
All my scripts includes an action to load datasheet,which takes datasheetname as input parameter.
I pass this parameters via my main script.I am using an xml file to load environmnet variables(like database type) .Currently iam loading this xml file through test settings.
Note: datasheet and xml file are also in QC.
If I want to run the same test against two different databases simultaneously its not possible because I have to load different xml files for each testset
Test1 ->database type=Oracle
Test1 ->database type=DB2
In order to faciliate to run the same test simultaneously on two different databases I can use Userdefine fileds for each test in the testset
UDF1 - XML filename
UDF2 - Datasheet name
However,i would like to have the flexibily of running the script from test plan tree as well as test lab.
Any suggestion how I can achieve this in a efficient way?
