I searched on this topic before and the newest thread was back in 2004. So I'd like to ask this again of the user community.
Which test software do you like working with better, Test Complete or QuickTest Pro?
So far TestComplete is 10X better hands down. It's much more flexable, open and intuitive where QTP is much bulkier with options and wizards and seems too dumbed down. but thats just me, I'd like to know what everyone else thinks.
You ask for very deep analyses to give the answer in one message.
You have to investigate that by yourself. :-}
There are documentation and trial downloading from both sites.
There is nothing absolute perfect in the world.
In testing tools industry - even more.
All depends on what you need to accomplish,
what is level of skill the automators, who would be using the tool, company resources and so on, so on...
Personally, I think, Test Complete is amazing tool: very intelligent, flexible, with huge possibility to control every process.
If I've made solution - my chose would be: TC
I think the question I need to get answered is what is it that I am not understanding about QTP? What is it that QTP does over TC or any other testing software to justify the price?
Is there any way to integrate unit testing into QTP? How about the full open application object tree like TestComplete has? How do I browse objects to their fullest depth so I can test every aspect of each object?
While doing an evaluation of several tools, it came down to TC v QTP and although both are powerful tools, QTP won on shorter learning curve. I would much rather use QTP data handling than TC any day - just don't have 6 months to get used to a new concept.
