    QTP and VC++

    We are testing a VC++ application. This application is designed in such as way that all the objects(textbox,button) are derived from a Single parent class.

    So when we are trying to record using QTP, the QTP is identifying each object(textbox,button) as an generice winobject class.

    Can somebody give some advice on this.

    :-) Savio

    This is probably a case where you will need the developers to add some kind of testability interface, such as COM or a dll. I have had this problem before with docked windows, where a COM interface was added to allow manipulation of the windows via a user-defined function library.

    If it does not affect the item you are verifying with the test then I suggest you collaborate with developers to give you a 'back door'.

    That would be difficult as the interface cannot be modified for testing purposes, as its an live environment.

    Does QTP provide with customized addin or is there something like a proxy.
