Descriptive Programming Aid QTP v WinRunner
WinRunner's Gui Spy lets you copy an object's GUI Map description to the clipboard after locating it. This makes descriptive programming much easier.
I can't find any such facility in QTP 9.0 and indeed, don't recall seeing any such thing in 6.5 or 8.2. As a descriptive programming aid, does anyone know if this is possible in QTP?
The Object Spy doesn't have an option to copy any object descriptions to the clipboard.
Re: Descriptive Programming Aid QTP v WinRunner
In QTP, Object Repository is binary.
Mercury doesn't allow to edit it directly in versions before 9.0.
In version 9.0, OR is in XML format.
It's possible to do it from repository file.
