Hey everyone, i'm in th mist of creating a keyword driven framework and i have some questions to ask people who have created one on my design. After reading articles on safs and just enough software testing, i'm curious to know if i'm doing it the proper way. Basically i have 3 switch statesments. The first is for the window that i'm performing the action on. It will navigate to the proper window, and verify its the right window or not. The second switch statement, will active the component that i want to manipulate and check to see if its active or not. Finally the third switch statement is the function i want to perform on that component that lies on that window.
I'm just curious, is this the correct way of doing it, so far my framework works great but its really slow compared to creating re-usable actions. The app i'm working is a fat client, it has a main window with a toolbar with dropdown menus that will navigate to different sub-windows.
So the first switch statement, will choose a menu heading, then window like Accouts -->
New Accounts. Then vaidate that its the New Account window. The second switch statement will active a text box First Name and check to see if the text box exists. The 3rd switch statement will then do the action on the text box, like "inserttext". The switch statements of course, are chosen by reading in an excel file and looking at the window column, component column and action column. Any feedback would be great.
