It states in Mercury documentation.
When you try to run in 9.0 any TestCase from older version, you would be asked if you want to convert it into new version. If you say: "No",
TestCase will be open in read only mode, but still runable. If "YES" - TestCase will be converted to 9.0 forever.
Also: here on forum, there are number of posts from guys, who analyzed new features of 9.0 and did already such a conversion.
Even I've seen one message about loosing completely data as result of conversion.
So, be sure you have backUp of everything in case something critical happened during conversion.
what you can try to do with the QTPPlus functionality:
- in 9.0 create a script that reads your OR (TOProperties) and stores all data in an XML file. (be careful with the use of smart identification)
- in 8.2 create a script that reads the XML and build the OR (.tsr / .mtr)
