    Java application not recognized

    Hi,

I am trying to test a pure java application with QTP9.0 and the Java add inn 8.2, upgraded to 9.0

the problem is that QTP doesn't recognize my application, QTP doesn't record something on this application. It even does not recognize the application running

I tried starting the application using:
    - a launcher created with installshield
    - the commandline

It doesn't matter if QTP opens the application or I record with the option "on any open application"

Someone out there some hints and tips on what to try next??

    Maxim

    Re: Java application not recognized

    Hi,

You can take help of SPY to know whether the QTP is able to recognize the objects of your application. (I guess you might have done that, but just for confirmation adding these lines)

BTW, QTP does not support the recording of SWT objects. If your application is using the one, you need to write scripts for the same.

    Re: Java application not recognized

Some time the _java_options environment variable creates the problems.
Try to launch the application from the command line and also load the java support from command line using -Xrunmicsupp and -xbootclass path.
    This worked for me.
If your application uses incremental garbage collection then u might want to disable dynamic transformation support.

    Re: Java application not recognized

    Hi,

Make sure you first open QTP, select the Java Addin and then open your java application.

    Thanks,
    Wasim
