attached text property
I am testing an application that was poorly coded from a QA standpoint and am very limited on what I can use for properties in object identification. For example - none of my input boxes are uniquely labeled, I cannot acquire an attached text property and my MSW_ids are changing constantly because of reoccuring releases. (This is a client/server Windows app)
I contacted Mercury regarding the attached text property for Windows applications to see if it could be expanded to pick up attached text from objects other than static text. The rep for my company said he would put this in for a future release of QTP but enhancements are usually based on demand (amount of requests from other users).
My question is - Is there enough of a demand for this where it may go into a release? I was reading through the QTP: Limitations of QTP 8.2 thread and noticed users are experience limitations similar to this (#10 on the limitations list). Would a more robust attached text property be a benefit to QTP users other than me? Thanks for taking the time to read this!
