    Recognizing Java Menu and SubMenu

    Hi all,

I am having problem recognizing the Menu and Submenu in our Java application. I am using QTP version 6.0. I've tried to record in Basic Level as well as High Level Configuration.

I need to click on the Java Menu and then Click on the Submenu to go to a page. Right now QTP is not recording the click on Menu.
    Gives me an error,
"WebElement object was not found in the Object Repository. Check the Object Repository to confirm that the object exists or to find the correct name for the object." I also have Java Add In loaded.

I've read in other topics to use FireEvent, not sure if I could use it here but I've also tried this,
    Browser("Browser Page").Page("Page 2").WebElement("Menu Name").FireEvent "onmouseover"

Please help me in solving this.

    Thanks

Re: Recognizing Java Menu and SubMenu

    Hi,

As per the error the object is not in OR, try adding it to OR manually.

    Thanks,
    Wasim

Re: Recognizing Java Menu and SubMenu

    Hi,

Record a test script by clicking on 'SubMenu' and run. Now check that its working or not. If this script is running successfully then their can be some problem in OR. Update your OR.

    Thanks

Re: Recognizing Java Menu and SubMenu

Thanks guys, I got it. I turned on 'Record MouseUp and MouseDown as Click' and 'Use Standard Windows Mouse events' in Adv Web options. Then updated OR with Menu and Submenu. QTP is now able to record menu and submenus.
