Thread: ToolTip Testing

ToolTip Testing

I have a quick question about testing the tooltip for UI item.
I have a stylesheet specified and a JSP which shows the UI Item (Say a Button). When I hover the mouse on the button then a ToolTip can be seen.
Is there anyway that we can include it in the script so that it is automated?
I have no idea how to capture the tooltip using QTP 8.2

Thanks in advance

Yes there is. Use the 'fire event' method. You should be able to find more on this in the user guide. Something on the lines of:

Browser("XYZ").Page("XYZ").WebButton("XYZ").FireEv ent "onmouseover"

Hope this helps

There is a getroproperty("ToolTipText")
I'm not a complete idiot - some parts are missing.
