    Closing owned popup window

    Hi all,
I am testing Siebel call center application 7.8. I created a record and hit submit button, then a popup comes out of type browser with OK button on it. I did object spy on it and it is of class type Dialog. I put it on the repository and built step using step generator to close this using followings:

    SiebApplication("call center").SiebScreen("Activities").SiebView("call Info").SiebApplet("callers").SiebList("List").Sieb Picklist("callers confirmed").Select "N"
    SiebApplication("call center").SiebScreen("Activities").SiebView("call Info").SiebApplet("callers").SiebButton("Submit"). Click
'popup comes after this step as title: "Microsoft Internet Explorer" as owned popup of above window

after this step I put the code:
    browser("call center").dialog("Microsoft Internet Explorer").winbutton("OK").close

    and
    Browser("creationtime:=1").close

and also hwnd property as suggested by Tarun Lalwani in similar post.

Nothing works. Can anybody tell me how to solve this problem. I even made this as optional step and still doesn't work. tried to put into recovery scenario, but I can't do it because add scenario button is disabled.
    Thank you. Keep posting.

    Re: Closing owned popup window

hey i have my own doubts like with winbutton u r trying to perform close...which is i think not allowed...
    browser("call center").dialog("Microsoft Internet Explorer").winbutton("OK").close
    instead just try

    browser("call center").dialog("Microsoft Internet Explorer").close
    or just
    browser("call center").close

or else add cancel button and ..use the follwoing step
    browser("call center").dialog("Microsoft Internet Explorer").winbutton("Cancel").Click

    Re: Closing owned popup window

    Hi guys,
Nothing works. The problem here is while running the script, QTP cursor doesn't advance to the popup line. The cursor stays in at the line of Parent window and when I Click that popup window, then only cursor advances to the next line (to popup window). The problem is that popup window is identified as parent window and cursor stays right there waiting for user input(click "OK") then only advances to the popup line.

    SiebApplication("call center").SiebScreen("Activities").SiebView("call Info").SiebApplet("callers").SiebButton("Submit"). Click

    browser("call center").dialog("Microsoft Internet Explorer").winbutton("OK").close

here, cursor stays at first line, unless clicked that popup manually, then only advances to second line.

    any help is appreciated.

    Thanx
    Thank you. Keep posting.
