My script simply calls the AUT's search function. My script puts a value in a textbox which is used to search in a DB for that value and return the hits.
For most of the fields it works just fine. As usual there is an odd occurrence I need help with...
The test script will fail. I can see the test script fill in the textbox with the correct data to search for. The search returns values NOT asked for, or none at all. When I examine the search form it has a different value in the textbox than was set by the script!
Now the test script is going to do a verification that the textbox contains the correct data - so I can report a PASS/FAIL status. But, the value in the textbox has changed. This causes the verification of the value to fail.
Re: QTP changes textbox value! Pilot error or Bug?
As SteveC said it look like an issue with the AUT and nothing else. Or you might be have a line of code in your script thats making that change and you may have overlooked it. Just check it to confirm.
