Which approach is better?
I have 2 different groups creating scripts for my company.
1. Group A always use table to locate their object, for example:
Look for table with id "tblData", search on all the rows and columns until it gets a link called "Report". If that link exist, then click it. If not, write the failure to the reporter
2. Group B always use DP link("name:=Reports") or OR to locate the link.
I like the approach of Group A more than Group B, since it seems to be more efficient in locating objects. It's also better in reporting failures.
Would you agree or disagree?
Re: Which approach is better?
Which method is the quickest to find or not find the link?
When I farm out work to other companies I supply coding standards which makes the script validation easier for me.
Choose the method you like and insist all parties use the same method(s).
