How to automate page with changing contents using QTP
I am new to QTP. I have to automate the testing of an HTML page (with tabs), which is dynamic in nature. When first time I visit the page, there is a set of html controls (textbox, list box, option button, text area) on page with no values selected and all these controls are grouped in html tables. There is also a commit button. I select some values and press commit button. Now when I visit this page second time, it has two sets of same html controls, one on upper part and one on lower part of page. Lower set is populated with values, which I selected and saved earlier. Upper part of controls is blank. Now again I can select some values on upper part and save it. When third time this page is visited, it has now 3 sets of same controls with upper set of controls blank and lower 2 sets filled with values. After that I have to compare the values populated in these controls with database values. Naming convention of controls is something like..For example a list box.
on 1st run--html page contains
on 2nd run--html page contains
on 3rd run--html page contains
I am not sure whether it is feasible to automate such an application and how? please provide some guidelines.
