I am doing functional web testing using QTP8.2. In my site there is a menu item Edit After I select Edit I get a page in that there are three buttons to add, modify, delete customers. My duty is to check the functionality of add, modify, delete buttons. I was given the test data to add a new customer, and delete the customer which I added previously. The script worked well in the training region i.e the training server that I am working on. But the same thing when we ran on test region (with a different URL) then it caused a great havoc to the database. we had to restored it from backup. But my doubt is how can the browser actions at front-end delete the backend database. My script doesnítíve any connection with database. All it was doing is select a customer from the customers list(list box control) and click delete button. Isnít a strange situation? All of us are cracking our heads to find out the root cause...We know for sure that it could not be the problem with script.. although we are obviously hesitant to run the Script again. Can you guys send some solutions/comments to the above situation?
Re: Database crashed...
There could be some bug in the test server may be. Why do you doubt your own capabilities be doubtful on the developers i would say.
