Your Advices are always helped me lot for my previous work. Thanks to each and everyone.
I understood that QTP is having two different type of Licenses. 1. Seat and 2. Floating. Seat license we can install QTP in only one box.
Well, As our company is very small, they are not ready to buy multiple licenses from Mercury and the same time it is not possible for us to use one user license to complete Automation for my project. So they asked me to look after some other tool which is less cost for Functional Automation.
As I am doing little R & D with QTP , I came up with an little idea (I am not aware if someone already implemented ) of using single License QTP for multiple Users and I prepared proof of concept ready with me. Now I am in big confusion that whether my Proof of Concept is QTP license Violation or not.
I am sorry to say that now I am not sharing my little idea , but I would like to take few info from you all. Once I am done with white paper definitely I will share with you my friends.
Now my questions is ,
1. As long as I install and use QTP in one box it is not License Violation. I am right?
2. Is there any chance or ways of License become violation having installed in one box?
3. Can you please let me know few ways of violating Licenses?
The only violation I could imagine is by sharing the QTP by 2 machines. i.e. having another copy in another machine.
other than this I don't think you are violating
although using PCanywhere or any other romot access software to access the QTP from different machines is not violation.
