Recording Application That Uses More Than One Add-in
I am testing a web application that at a certain point starts up acrobat reader and opens a file. I would like to click on the Search button to, of course do a search and then finally a checkpoint. My problem is that QTP doesn't seem to be able to toggle over and start to use another add-in for acrobat reader. It looks like it is still using the web add-in. I tried just for fun to see how and what add-in QTP would use if I start off Recording acrobat reader and that works just fine. It finds the search button. It use I believe the VB add-in.
Is there something I need to do in QTP once the app starts up acrobat reader?
Re: Recording Application That Uses More Than One Add-in
You can load several add-ons and record two application written with different technologies, however be aware that in some cases this does not work. You have to check the compatability issues between the technologies.
As for web with acrobat reader, I did not have problems, I have scripts that perform actions on a web application and later do some other actions on an acrobat document.
There are some acrobat controls that are not recognize properly, in that case you can use descriptive programming.
