Maximum number of character is restricted to type in the text field in the application itself. ie like I couldn't enter more than 10 char in the text field.
I'm using parameterization for entering the values in the field. In this case how can I check the maximum number of characters?
Note: I'm using descriptive prgmg approach, so if i give the test data for maximum values then I'm getting some error message in the vbs script itself. Which is working fine when i try with required values in the particular text field.
Hello Tarun and prashant,
Thanks for your reply.
The problem here is I keep the test data in data table. I couldn't enter the characters of length more than 10 chars in application. The cursor will not go to 11th position. So If i get the values from text field only there would be 10 characters there. Hence how can i assert that?
Alternate way to check this is to check the maxlen property of the text field using GetROProperty function. But check wheather text field in the application you are testing has this property. You can simply check this property with number of characters it should take.
I tried getting the text length, the Object spy shows that 50 is the maxLength for the firstName edit box while I am unable to get that, I tried for other properties GetROProperty("value" ) and it works fine but not for maxLength !!
