    wrong Page opens up

    Hi,
We have a web application and on the test page, there is a Menu with three drop down menuitems. When I click any one of them a relevant page should open up. When I run the test for clicking the third item, the page for the second one opens up. I am new to QTP and I spent a day on it.I have added all the unique properties for the webtable. Any code can be written to close the wrong page and open up the correct page? What is wrong?
    Please help
    Thanks
    Becky

    Re: wrong Page opens up

1st.. Verify when the 3rd menu option is selected Manually it functions correctly.

2nd.. How do you have the menu navigation setup? Do you use a shared action, or is the navigation hard coded in each test?

Paste the code, if you dont mind.

What kind of menu is it JS, VBS...?

Are there any other applications running on the same machine as the script?

    Re: wrong Page opens up

you said you have 3 items apperantly when you select the 2nd one you get the page associated with the 3rd one.
I would suggest to use the below line for selecting your items.
    Browser("BrowserName").Page("PageName").WebList("W blstName").Select "#0"
'this will select the 1st item change the 0 to 1,2 for selecting the 2nd, and 3rd.
    hope this work.

    Re: wrong Page opens up

    Hi guys,
I finally fixed it with providing the exact absx, absy, x, y coordinates while clicking. Thanks for all your suggestions.
I am not sure if it is a permanent fix though.
Will post in details if i need more help.
But I woould like to know if there is a vbscript for making a browser/page openup?
    Thanks
    Becky

    Re: wrong Page opens up

Can you post the source code of the web page. Do a view source and search for the menu name and post the lines related to menu.
