    WebEdit

    QTP recognize the WebEdit by these properties
    "html tag:=INPUT","type:=text:=","name:=query.destinatio nOther"

    when I tried to use part/all of the above properities in my DP, QTP fail!!
    i.e. Browser("micClass:Browser").Page("micClass:=Page") .WebEdit("html tag:=INPUT","type:=text","name:=query.destinationO ther").Set "Orlando"
    tis doesn't work while
    Browser("Orlando Search Results,").Page("Plan A Vacation, Vacation").WebEdit("query.destinationOther").Set "Orlando"
    works fine, do any one knows what is the reason?
    What do you guys usually use for WebEdit properities?

    Re: WebEdit

    My issue is similar to http://www.qaforums.com/cgi-bin/foru...;f=20;t=004351

    Tarun, below is the source code view:

    tr
    td colspan="3"
    input type="radio"
    id="destinationFormRadio_other"
    name="query.destination"
    value="0"
    checked="true"
    / Enter a Destination:
    input type="text"
    name="query.destinationOther"
    value=""
    maxlength="50" style="width:200px"
    on5focus="PlanAVacation_selectDestinationFormRadio WithId('destinationFormRadio_other');"//td
    /tr
    I removed the Parenthesis and I intentionally put 5 on on5focus because I couldn't post due to a forum warnning: Sorry, we do not permit the following HTML tag or attribute: ONFOCUS, Parenthesis in HTML tag

    Thank You.

    Re: WebEdit

    Your code failed because you used "name:=query.destinationOther" and QTP is taking it as a regular expression i suppose. And "." is regular expression character. Try using "name:=query\.destinationOther"

    Re: WebEdit

    Hi,

    I suggest you to inclide "Index" property in the "WebEdit("html tag:=INPUT","type:=text","name:=query.destinationO ther")". There may be possibility that there are few more Text boxes with the same set of properties.

    Thanks,
    Wasim

    Re: WebEdit

    Wasim: Thanx 4 yr reply , but you couldn't count on the index it is so dynamic especially if the developers introduce new objects in the same page.
    Tarun : Thank you , it is working now.
