XML Checkpoint and CDATA section
I have been successfully using XML checkpoints and found them very useful.
I have a new system to test that returns most of its data in cdata sections and quick test pro 8.2 fails to see this section in the checkpoint properties.
Is there a simple way to overcome this or will I need to create code to read the xml file and create checkpoints?
Could I transform or save the XML so that the CDATA is viewable and I could create XML or Text checkpoints?
Re: XML Checkpoint and CDATA section
Well personally i am very much against XML Checkpoints becuase they even fail when you have any additions to XML i.e. the position of the variable in the xml change then the checkpoint will fail even if the value is there.
I believe its always better to use a XML Checkpoint by writing a code using XMLUtil object.
If your XML is static and only the values will change or even that wont change then you should go for the checkpoint otherwise my suggestion would be not to do so.
