I have a page with 62 links , each link have qa4 which is for testing but once we move to development the qa4 won't exist in the link address.
I still can validate the link using Regular expression but doing this for 62 different links is a lot of work
is there a better way to do so?
ppat it doesn't matter what I wanna validate
BTW usually validating a working link done by validating it's not broken.
I am using a page checkpoint and all the 62 links in this checkpoint have qa4 as a part of each link url , this qa4 is dynamic , i.e. in production I will not have qa4
e.g. www.qa4.yahoo.com , in production will be www.yahoo.com
I have to use regular expression but doing so for 62 links is time consuming so am looking for a different way to do it.
The best way I found to handle this is by isolating all your checkpoints in one reusable action and before you test the target environment just replay this reusable action using the update run.
The first half of ur answer definitely correct(Isolating all checkpoints in one resuable action and write a RegEx). but about the Update run, If u keep on switching between environments very frequently then It may not be a good idea.
