Hi, pause icon from tool bar is always disabled. Why? Did I overlook some test settings?
Also, is there way to associate keyboard pause key with QTP pause action, so if I press keyboard Pause key, currently running script would halt?
Tarun, this is will slow down the playback
I guess he is asking to pause while recording , same as in LR , unfortunately QTP doesn't have a pause button.

You need Microsoft script debugger installed on your pc and you need to set the execution mode as Normal instead of fast.
A popular misconception among QTPers is that the Fast & Slow mode playbacks execution time is vastly different.
All the fast mode does is hide the yellow execution arrow, it doesn't make your application respond any quicker. In the majority of cases I would say there is little difference in execution time.

Tarun, I did as you said, installed Microsoft script debugger and set execution mode to Normal, but pause is still disabled on Debug toolbar (which disappears during the test run) and on Debug menu.
Am I still missing something?
Well can't say anything except uninstall and install QTP again.
Try to use break point and from this point you can execute in debug mode by pressing F11
