How to log events on Windows Standard Objects in QTP?

I am trying to record actions performed on Windows Std Objects like:
    1. Click on Start Button (Event not recorded).
    2. Click Settings and then Control Panel (Again Event is not recorded in separate).
    3. Close Control Panel window.

When I run this script, the error is displayed as "Object not found".

Can anybody suggest any code using which one can map these objects and perform actions on them using descriptive scripting?

    Regards,
    Omkar Bhise

This is the format for launching Control Panel utilities:

    Systemutil.run "control.exe","XXX.cpl"

where XXXX is the control panel utility name, thus if you wanted to launch the display utility you would run:

    Systemutil.run "control.exe","desk.cpl"

Omkar when you recorded the actions above did you get the following code:

    SystemUtil.Run "My Computer/","","","open"
    Window("Control Panel").WinListView("SysListView32").Activate "Display"

This is what I got when recording those steps but it would not playback. I removed the / from the end of My Computer and it ran OK.

Sorry typo in above, should be:

    SystemUtil.Run "Control Panel","","","open"
    Window("Control Panel").WinListView("SysListView32").Activate "Display"
