    image capturing as JPG

    hi

    i am working on QTP i need to do image verification but the images i want to capture is in JPG format i want to capture these images in this format only
    but QTP do capture images in .BMP
    can anyone tell me way to do capture images in JPG
    or any round about way
    at present i am using image converter but if there is any cool way of doing this
    it will be helpful

    Well i believe there is no function in qtp that would allow you to do so. You would need to use 3 party libraries (COM based classes) to capture it as a JPEG image

    That's true.
    Try to search Mercury KB for BMP2JPG article.
    I've seen there implementation of this task on VB.
    Code and DLL are provided.

    I'm using BMP2JPG, it takes about 2 seconds to convert and you get a quick flash of a command window but it reduces 2MB bitmaps to about 70KB.

    It's freely avalable (be careful there are a number of different apps called this) you don't need to install it, just call it from where ever you put it:

    SystemUtil.Run "C:\BMP2JPG.exe","filetoconvertname.bmp","converte dfilename.jpg"
