    Dynamically Changing object

    Hi all,

    I have been experiencing a problem with my script.
    Running the script after recording, say's cannot recognize the object. This object is a DataGrid on a frame. I found out that the object's description is changing dynamically. Following properties are changing at every run.
    "HTML id" and "name" (their values are same).

    Please let me know how to overcome this problem.
    (I tried including some extra properties like X and Y but doesn't solve the problem).

    Any Help is greatly appreciated.

    Re: Dynamically Changing object

    Parameterize name and uncheck HTML id from mandatory property.
    Don't use x and Y, because if resolution of screen changed (or you need to run it on another machine), QTP also doesn't recognize them.
    You can find information about parameterizing in QTP help.

    Re: Dynamically Changing object

    Hi
    Use Regular Expression for the object description. or write DP for example
    Object_name("name:=....","html id:=...").operation_name
    jbotash : We can use X , Y coor but we have to take dynamically these values.so there will not be any problems even screen coord changes.

    Re: Dynamically Changing object

    If the table your are looking at is the only table having HTML id then one possible solution would be to search the table on the page with a non blank id. If other tables also have a html id then the possible solution would be to search for table which has non-blank html id and has same value as the name
