I was just trying out how to use 'reusable actions'.I created an Action in Test 1 and called it from Test 2.Works fine.
Now I deleted the reusable action from Test 1 and also call to that action from Test 2.
But everytime I open Test 2 ,I get this msg
"This test calls one or more actions that were not found.
Running the test with calls to these actions will cause the test to fail.
You should delete all references to these actions before running the test."
How should I avoid getting this msg ? Did I not delete properly ?
Re: Reusable actions
I have seen this happen before as well. I had to create a new action, then delete it to make the message go away.
Alternatively, you could back up your project file, then go into your project file and find the your_project_name.usr file and go to the [Actions] section and delete the line that is referring to your now non-existent Action. Do the same for the [ExtraFiles] section.
Next, find the default.prm file and delete the section that refers to your Action. For example, if you deleted Action 2 and still get that error on launch, make sure the [parameter:Action2] section is gone from default.prm.
Next, make sure there are no references to the deleted action in default.usp. References may be littered through this file, so I can't refer to any specific section, you will just need to weed through it.
Next, look in the thick_usr.dat file and delete the references to your deleted action in the [Actions] section and the [VuserProfiles] section.
Lastly, look in the thin_usr.dat file and delete the references to your deleted action in the [Actions] section and the [ExtraFiles] section.
I have only had this happen once, and just adding a new action and then deleting it again got it resolved. All of the above is what changed between cvs checkins in reference to that Action deletion.
Re: Reusable actions
Thanx Jamie, but I did not quite understand first part of the answer..
"I had to create a new action, then delete it to make the message go away."
Where I need to create a new action, and which one to delete ?
