I have 8 screens of data each screen has 25 rows and 9 columns, to record and compare agents the database. Recording only 1 row and 4 columns takes 30 seconds or more. To record all the rows and columns will take me to retirement. Is there a way of speeding up the playback of the script.
You know that is a excellent question, that I can't even answer. I have never tried this before using QTP. Using SilkTest I would plan on connecting to the database and running the same query that is used to populate the web page. How would you do this using QTP?
If you recorded the first row and 4 columns there is no need to record the rest to get the values. If this is on a table ble... just count the rows/column find a patter to pick up the values for each row and store them in a parameter.
Once stored then check the parameter by running a query on the database through qtp.
Just create a connection with the script rather than using the build in db checkpoint.
