I must be missing something about the object repository that replaced the frame file of SilkTest. This object repository is the stupidest way of making a simple object map. I hope I'm just missing something here and it's me. You can't highlight something and have the system tell you what you are going to define. You can't add on object in the middle of the tree, you never know how much your adding or where it's going to put it. I'm reading pages 765 - 790 of the 8.0.1 users guide. Is there a crash course in recording about 12 web windows and creating one big object repository?
Thanks for the good book on VBScripting, is there one on QTP?
This tool is getting worse, now when I try to add an object and say this and all the selected object and the descendants, I get nothing, I said nothing, NOTHING. I now have a dent in my forehead from this tool. I know this tool is capable of doing what I want, it just wont reason with me. I set something to only see the object and nothing but the object and thus I can't define the whole window.
You are not missing anything. It really is that difficult to use the object repository. My suggestion, stop trying to compare it to Silk Test because there is no comparison or do what we did, convince your company to switch to Silk Test
