We have spent a few weeks trying to evaluate RFT to test a highly transactional web application and due to the intermittant problems we encountered we are looking at QTP.
Our choices are evaluate QTP or just wait 6 months and try again.
Could you guys please clarify a few points for me before I embark on evaluation
1. Has anyone successfully used QTP for testing ASP and dotnet web applications
2 Has anyone successfully used QTP for testing an ActiveX created using MSFlexGrid
3. Is QTP easy to use for a generally non-technical tester (or minimally technical)
4. What is support from Mercury like in areas outside the US or UK - We are based in India
I would really appreciate any answers to these questions or other experiences with QTP for asp and dotnet web applications
1)I'm sure many people have!!
2)I think that you can after a quick scan through the QTP Help File.
3)Yes it is very easy to pick up, has a great tutorial for the beginner.
4)Second to none IMHO (Their online support is also excellent - support.mercury.com)
I've been using QTP to test a VB.NET and C# developed GUI Application, and it's able to do everything I need so far with minimal fussing.
I'm not a complete idiot - some parts are missing.
