I looked there and couldn't find a single answer!
I found it some where in my QTP documents
' how to open google on IE
Set IE = CreateObject("InternetExplorer.Application")
IE.Visible = True
the question now is how to do the same thing using different browsers ,such as: Netscape and FireFox?
Bad choice! I've tried invoking Netscape and Firefox and unfortunately there's no way do a CreateObject for these browsers though you can do a SystemUtil.Run to invoke the browsers and pass the URL to them. QTP does NOT recognize the regular objects inside these browsers. Yes, I know it's sad.
Currently QTP 8.2 supports only these
IE--Any supported version of Internet Explorer.
NS6--Any supported version of Netscape 6.x.
NS7--Any supported version of Netscape 7.x.
Dim qtApp 'As QuickTest.Application ' Declare the application object variable
Set qtApp = CreateObject("QuickTest.Application") ' Create the application object
qtApp.SetActiveAddins Array("Web") ' Activate the Web Add-in
qtApp.Launch ' Start QuickTest
qtApp.New ' Open a new test
' Configure the Web application to use with this test
qtApp.Test.Settings.Launchers("Web").Active = True
qtApp.Test.Settings.Launchers("Web").Browser = "IE"
qtApp.Test.Settings.Launchers("Web").Browser = "NS6"
qtApp.Test.Settings.Launchers("Web").Browser = "NS7"
' Configure other Web settings
qtApp.Test.Settings.Web.BrowserNavigationTimeout = 60000
qtApp.Test.Settings.Web.NextPageIfObjNotFound = True
Set qtApp = Nothing '
Firefox i am not sure would work as Mercury makes no claim towards that. SystemUtil.Run is an alternative but can only do very limited stuff.
