How do you handle ghost or vpc images in your automation lab?
Long time lurker first time posting a question. :-)
Is it possible to automate the ghost(ing) of a machine or reimaging of VPC (Virtual PC) images with out burning an extra QTP license and not requiring a human to be present to setup the proper machine state.
Our lab is very new to automation, so we don't truly know what is possible and what is not possible.
Any responses would be greatly appreciated.
If this topic is already present somewhere and I overlooked it please kindly point me in the right direction.

I never thought of this myself but I think it should be possible. And I stress 'I think' because I have never done it myself or seen someone else do it. I suppose if you set up QTP on your ghosting server it should be possible, provided ofcourse you have all the required data ready before-hand. If I'm not mistaken Norton Ghost has the ability to read parameters from an input file while ghosting so human intervention is minimized. If you make QTP run the ghosting utility with this input it could possibly make things easier for you.
