I wanted to know if QTP supports VBA(MS access). I went to the mercury site and searched the QA forums. I know that it supports .Net with some addins, java and visual basic applications. But i did not find anything which says if it supports MS access with VBA programming language. I am actually looking for a tool which would support .Net, Visual basic 6.0 and VBA. After doing some research in the forum i found out that mercury provides good support for its tool, so i was thinking of QTP as a good option.
Please provide me some answers and any suggestions are welcome as well.
Re: Testing VBA
QTP supports .Net with .NET AddIn.
QTP supports MS access.
No matter, how it written in your applicationUnderTest, you have to handle that not with VBA, but with VBscript in your TestScript (via MS COM object or from QTP directly with its DataBase checkPoints)
But there is a lot of WorkAround possibilities if you want to script on VBA: via Macro for example.
This way is complicated a little bit and cannot be recommended as common way of scripting in QTP.
But, if you have to test .NET it looks like there is not much of tools to choose from:
QTP and TestComplete from AutomatedQA.
