I think everyone's answered most of your questions. As for the results in one location, you could have a common location set for saving all your results.
Again, MultiTestManager will make this a whole lot easier as it lets you choose results location and can provide final results report in an HTML format. The html report contains links to the detailed QTP results. So all your results can be accessed from place.
Test Director is obviously a better alternative because it will give you a whole lot more, but it's not free. [img]images/icons/smile.gif[/img]
