Any one have the summary of all the Automation testing tools comparison currently available?
Which platforms , environments , languages support for each tool and the pro/con of it?
Especially, which tool support .NET frame work and C#. I know QTP is, how about other like Silk or Robot or...?
For the Silk tool the best way to get the info is to actually go to the Segue site. There is a pdf file you can download aswell as release notes etc. I would think Rational Robot would be the same as this is a C based test tool using SQABasic as it's script language (IBM site for details).
sunrise, there is a free paper in QADownloads by Ray Robinson that though is now dated (it is a couple of years old and many of the tools have advanced significantly in that time, the IBM Rational tools have been re-engineered off the Eclipse IDE opensource project)it is still a reasonable start point.
Many of the vendors have infomation on the sites, with some comparators - this is more for marketing reasons though and most do not go to any great detail.
Ovum/ Meta/ Gartner/ Forrester all do tools reports on the IT industry, these are updated annually however as all of these are commercial information gathering/ analysis organisations then these come at a real dollar cost for each report.
The biggest pro's and con's for each tool you eventually identify as fitting the technical brief you give, will come from the implementation, technology, development methodology and usage patterns in your own context, there are many threads on this forum that already discuss these.
