problme while running scripts in batch mode.

hi all,
i have peculiar problem...i have around 100 test scripts and i need to run all the scripts in 3 batches of 30 each...my scripts are running fine when i run them 1 at a time...but when i put them in my multi test mgr(downloaded from MI site)it doesnt run even a single script...right at the first line of the first script it does'nt identify the objects from the repository and pops up an error....saying properties dont match the object present in the repository...can any one tell me if i need to do any setting before running the scripts in the bacth mode...and one more thing , if i stop the run process in multi test manager it automatially closes my QTP and i need to start by again restarting my QTP ....can anyone suggest me a solution for this problme for running my tests successfully in batch mode..one more thing all the tests do not belong to the same shared object repository ..they belong to to different shared object repositories.....thanks

Check "Allow other Mercury Interactive tools to run tests" in QTP --> Options --> Run

Jbotash,
How did you get so clever? What is your secret?

Anyways Siva, I dont have a clue about your 1st problem. Though just make sure you registered the utility like their installation manual says.....(at command prompt.... MultiTestManager.exe /REGSERVER)

For the problem with QTP shutting down when you stop MTM, that can be configured using the preferences in MTM (Close QTP after test run).

Also I dont know if it's just me, but did anyone notice the spelling of 'Recent Files' in MTM's File tab? Either their Anglais n'est pas tres good or I'm going blind.

Qualityacubea,

I just thought it had something to do with the Heineken I had for lunch.

Actually I had noticed it before but was hardpressed to believe that a product by Mercury would have such a silly typo. I tried to force myself to believe that they were talking about resending the files somewhere (beam them into outerspace perhaps?) but now that I have your support I'm convinced it's a bug! There maybe a future for me in testing afterall.

I also noticed a bug in this post.... Siva, you have around 100 tests. If you run them in 3 batches of 30 each you have 90. What happens to the rest? I think I shud stop drinking at lunch (I dont usually. It was someones farewell lunch at work)...or maybe it just makes me a better tester

>What happens to the rest?
And WHAT HAPPENS TO THE REST??????????????

>did anyone notice the spelling ????????????????
Nobody, but Mark …

Mark,
You are REALLY QA !
Did I tell you that?

>at lunch
Yes, please!
We need you alive !

>your secret?
Reading QA forum! Nothing more.
(Mark, please, don’t ask me again 50 backs. I remember: I own you already…)

>make sure you registered the utility like their installation manual says…
Manual is not correct. This Util is selfregistering. It will ask you about registration
very first time, you run it and will do it automatically.
(Unless you Click “No”)
Mark is right. It might be missing registration.

Thanks, guys.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica">Actually the version I had was not self registering. My boss had some problem too. Registering and restarting fixed it.

Janna, thanks for the support.
