Is threads possible in QTP...mean to say i want to open 2 browsers at a time and test the required functionality for both the application simultaneously..is it possible??
appriciate u r comments on this.
I suppose it is possible but from a first guess I would think having the same script running on two machines would be the obvious solution..... If you used something like startUrl_1:=" " and startUrl_2:=" " i.e.
no actually i want to execute from single machine...from one script i want to test 2 application...ya i know that QTP is a sequetial execution....but then, by any chance can we execute set of lines parallely..... mean to say
i have 2 statements which calls browser and edits the URL..but these 2 statments should execute simultaneously, so that both the browser should come up at same time with given url...
How about using the 'SystemUtil.Run' command twice at the beginning of the script? (To be honest I've not had need or come across this specific type pof test before but very interesting.....) would that not open two browser instances and then you could use a 'sync' for both statments ensuring your browser sessions are ready to begin at the same time..... i.e.
SystemUtil.Run or InvokeApplication "path"
Browser("browser name").Sync (This would be repeated)
Services.StartTransaction "B" etc
with the help of sync we can some what acheive but..actually i am looking for thread type...i.e one set of statments should be executing and parallely rest of the statments should be exucting...
ok anyways thankx...
